Title: What do all those labs REALLY Mean? Abstract: A better understanding of laboratory results can enhance the care nurses provide for their patients. This session will focus on the clinical ramifications of abnormal lab values. The presentation will include clues to identifying age specific conditions, pharmacologic agents and trauma, which may alter lab values. Clues to anticipating complications associated with abnormal labs will be covered. ABG’s, CBC, selected electrolytes, thyroid levels, and other miscellaneous labs of interest will be included. Participants should bring a desire to better understand the pathophysiology associated with abnormal labs.
